Following her victory at “La Voix”, Sophie Grenier already has a very precise idea of what she wants to present to the public in the future. Songs in French and different musical styles should be on the menu of his album.

The confetti still strewn the floor of the large set of “La Voix”, Sunday evening, which Sophie Grenier was already thinking regarding. Beneath her sweet and frail appearance, the 17-year-old knows what she wants. “It’s really music that I want to make in my life, I’m so happy, she confided to the QMI Agency. I would like to get to work as soon as possible to make my album. I know myself quite well as an artist, and with the experience of “La Voix”, I know myself even better.”
For this upcoming album, she wants to write songs that describe her and sound like her, in addition to including her version of “The Bird”, a song that caused the enthusiasm of the public around her.
Different styles
Before appearing on the show, Sophie Grenier released “Escape,” a four-song EP in English.
“I worked with an English-speaking producer, so it was difficult to do it in French. But for my album, of course I want it to be only in French. Mario Pelchat has his own record company within Musicor, I think he will be able to help me with that.
If she mainly performed relatively quiet songs during her career, she wants to explore other styles in the future. “When I started to sing, I kept myself in a more rock register. One of the first songs I performed was ‘Zombie’ by The Cranberries. I also listened a lot to Imagine Dragons. Then I turned to walks, because that’s my strength. There may be surprises on my record.”
Quite reserved in life, she confides that music helps her to express herself and to express herself.
“When I step onto a stage and start singing, I feel completely at ease. The stage is my home.”
Parental support
Even if her parents were a little apprehensive when she expressed her desire to pursue a career in music, Sophie Grenier can count on their unwavering support.
“When I started taking singing lessons, they wondered if it was useful. But they realized that singing was really what I wanted to do.”
Currently in grade 12 (the equivalent of the first year of Cégep in Ontario), the young woman is confident regarding her future.
“I hope I can manage to finish my year. It’s going to be hard to focus on that, but I think I should get there. My school is behind me and supports me, we will find a way to make it work.
An admiring coach
Mario Pelchat is full of praise for his protege, whom he has already invited to come and sing at his vineyard during the summer.
“I am so proud of Sophie, her career has been impeccable, he said, with stars in his eyes. She has a fair voice, she is gentle and restrained. She is only 17 years old, everything is to come, everything is to be done. But it already has an identity, its stamp is magnificent and felted.
The two have a new point in common since Sunday.
“She’s only 17, that’s when I started too. Like her, I won my first competition at the same age, everything is in everything.
