The driver lost control, hit the shoulder, collided with two trees on the right side, made a U-turn and hit a third tree on the other side. The vehicle ended up wrecked in a field. Lieutenant Eric Stasik, who led the intervention, explained that the driver was conscious but complained of severe back and hip pain. Extrication was delicate and prolonged, necessitating a rigid corset to safeguard the spine. The victim, who was alone in the car, was taken to the Epicura center of the Ath clinic and treated for serious injuries. Rescuers were at the scene for almost two hours.
