13-year-old steals vehicle and causes serious accident, killing woman

A woman has died in a serious accident caused by a 13-year-old teenager who fled from the police following stealing a vehicle on Saturday, in Woodland, California.

“A police officer was working in the area when he saw the car moving erratically,” said Sergeant Victoria Danzl, spokeswoman for the police.

The policeman tried to stop the young driver, but he fled the scene, driving very badly.

He was traveling at high speed when he arrived at an intersection around 4:27 p.m. He collided with two other vehicles which caught fire. The victim is a woman who died at the scene.

At least 10 people were injured and taken to hospital.

The police told the KCRA channel that three minors were injured, including a 3-year-old baby, who was transported by helicopter to treat his injuries.

The teenager had stolen the family vehicle to get around the city.

The case is still ongoing.
