After 20 years of blindness, a medical team reconsidered two patients in Onaizah

The medical team at the Lulwa Muhammad Al-Zamil Center for Ophthalmology at King Saud Hospital in Unaizah Governorate was able to revisit a patient in her nineties who lost her sight and became blind in one eye regarding 21 years ago.

The Qassim Health Cluster stated that the patient visited the center, and she underwent examinations that confirmed her need for surgical treatment of the eye as a result of the presence of cataracts.

In a related context, the center conducted a successful surgical intervention for a 61-year-old patient who was suffering from blindness in both eyes, as he lost his sight in the right eye 20 years ago, and in his left eye regarding 14 years ago.

The health gathering reported that the results of the examinations showed an infection in the right hypotension, and the presence of a complex mass with clouding of the cornea, so a corrective manual surgery was performed, following which the patient regained his normal vision.
