FA-Oberlechner ad overtime/Statistics Austria: This is fraud against employees!

Compensation for the work done is not debatable

Vienna (OTS) “The fact that, in times of rising prices, hard-working people are deprived of their earnings in this way is like cheating on employees,” says Michael Oberlechner, executive chairman of the Freedom Workers Vienna and FPÖ spokesman for employees. According to Statistics Austria, a total of 47 million overtime hours were not paid to employees last year, which corresponds to a loss of earnings of 1.2 billion euros.

For Oberlechner, such an approach by companies cannot be tolerated. Politicians, especially the ÖVP, are called upon to hold the chambers of commerce and economics accountable. “Chancellor Nehammer and Economics Minister Kocher must act immediately,” demands Oberlechner, who emphasizes that it is incomprehensible, especially in times of rising prices, that employees would be exempted even more. “Hacking has to be worth it once more! Many employees don’t know how to afford their lives and Nehammer’s business bigwigs also benefit from this.” (Ending)
