It’s also about Götze: Eintracht coach Oliver Glasner misses himself muzzle | Sports

Eintracht’s crisis in the Bundesliga (six games without a win) has of course left its mark on coach Oliver Glasner (48)…

After the next bankruptcy in Leverkusen (1:3) and slipping down to 7th place, the Frankfurt coach even muzzled himself! It is becoming more and more noticeable how much Glasner brings the sporting low of Eintracht to brooding and despair.

The consequence: in the Sky interview following the game, the coach did not want to answer a question regarding Mario Götze, who had received his fifth yellow card for complaining. Glasner only said evasively in the direction of the reporter: “You want to provoke me. We have Easter peace. All the best. Have a nice Easter.” He did not respond to another request either.

Glasner gave a very similar answer just minutes later at the press conference. When BILD asked him regarding his pros’ lack of speed of action, which the trainer himself had previously complained regarding, the Austrian ended the media round with: “I’m completely relaxed today. I won’t let myself be provoked today. That was the case earlier in the interview. I wish you all a happy Easter, celebrate with your families. We also give two days off. I’ll pick eggs, that’s how we do it in Austria. And then we’ll see each other once more next week. Thanks very much!”

With these words, Glasner got up and left the press conference room. What is behind his thin-skinned reaction?

After Eintracht’s 2-0 defeat in the league at Union Berlin (March 19), Glasner’s collar burst in a TV interview following the game. He publicly tackled his own defense (“I don’t know how to train quality”).

Because with gross individual mistakes, like now in Leverkusen, Eintracht has been making life difficult for itself for weeks. Probably to protect himself from another freak out, Glasner chose a different way out this time…
