A concert once morest the pension reform. To support the strikers, around fifty rappers will perform at Dock B in Pantin, this Sunday, April 9. Among the headliners are Sniper, Medina, Hatik and Souffrance. The sum collected with the tickets – which cost 10 euros – will be used to replenish the Caisse de solidarité, the first strike fund in France.
Guéno Fiasko, a stage manager who is used to providing sound trucks to trade union organizations for demonstrations, is behind this initiative. “I was looking for something to help the strikers and breathe new life into the demonstrations,” he told Le Monde newspaper.
The intermittent worker, member of the La Familiale collective, posted his idea on social networks. “If there are artists who are keen on a concert of support for those who are fighting once morest pension reform, with a ticket office 50% artists / 50% strike fund, let us know. We might be up to something cool,” he tweeted on March 28.
Guéno Fiasko claims to have received “more than 150 proposals from rap artists”. “For this Sunday, I only took rappers from the Paris region and I offered to help others to (organize) concerts in their region,” he said daily.
“My way of participating”
Hatik, star of the “Validated” series (Canal +), was one of the first to accept. “I retweeted saying that you might count on me, but that I didn’t want a euro in order to give everything to the strikers. It’s my way of participating, because I don’t always have the opportunity to go to a demonstration, ”he told Le Monde.
Like Hatik, other artists preferred to give their share, said Guéno Fiasko. It is for this reason that all of the receipts – and not half as originally proposed – will be donated to the strike funds. “This concert also aims to offer a militant setting to a whole neighborhood rap audience, accustomed to our events, who do not necessarily go to a demonstration,” added the manager to BFMTV.
