Early Saturday morning, just before 1 a.m., a 20-year-old man was hit by a train traveling on the Vevey-Blonay route. This had just left the station of St-Légier-Village. The victim died at the scene of the accident, according to the Vaud cantonal police.
According to initial findings, the victim is said to have walked alongside the train to say goodbye to a friend. “At some point he lost his balance and fell between the platform and the tracks,” writes the Vaud canton police. Then he became caught by the train.
