Paavo released his very first single in March – and in doing so has already attracted the attention of a very big pop star.
In an apartment near Vienna’s Naschmarkt he writes world hits. Or songs that might at least be. Paavo, whose real name is Paul Schnyder, wants to get to the top with his music, as he said in an interview with “Today” revealed: “I would like my songs to be popular in as many countries as possible,” says Paavo, “the best thing regarding making music is that it brings people together.”
The Viennese is by no means a completely blank slate – Paul Schnyder, as one half of the electro duo “Urban Contact”, collected a lot of streams in his teenage years. The productions of the two teenagers at the time were listened to over 100 million times on Spotify alone. This was followed by high chart positions in many countries.
Now Paavo wants to know for himself. Three years of work went into his first studio album, which is due to be released in autumn, the musician said in “Today“-Talk. Because: for each of his songs, the Viennese works with a wide variety of people from all over the world. “It’s just an insane effort when so many different people are involved in a project. And it was often the case that I sat in Vienna and the singer in America,” says Paavo.
This was also on the debut single “Supersonic Love Divine” the case: “The singer Billy lives in Texas – you can’t just fly over there.” In Vienna, Paavo works with the successful producer and Grammy nominee Rodney Hunter. The first release of this forthcoming album is – how might it be otherwise – regarding love. Nevertheless, the musician managed to create a danceable club hit.
Right at the beginning of his music career, a world star even came out as a Paavo fan: Justin Bieber. How did that come regarding? “One of my team is very networked and works a lot with musicians in the USA. He simply played the song to him,” said Paavo in an interview with “Today”. What followed was a voice message from Bieber himself, in which he raved regarding the song. “You’re happy regarding something like that,” says Paavo. And maybe the Viennese will soon play in the league himself.
