Al-Marsad Newspaper – Agencies: The US State Department condemned the firing of missiles at Israel from Lebanon and the Gaza Strip.
“Our commitment to Israel’s security is strict, and we recognize that Israel has a legitimate right to defend itself once morest all forms of aggression,” said US State Department deputy spokesman Vedant Patel.
On Thursday, the Israeli army announced that dozens of missiles were launched from Lebanon towards Israel, in a major escalation that comes amid tensions over the Israeli police operations in Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem.
Videos posted on social media showed missiles flying over northern Israel, and the sound of explosions in the distance.
