Classic Red Yeast Rice is well known for its cholesterol lowering effects.
This product is the only red yeast rice without monacolin K on the market. It is the result of fermentation with the fungus Purple Monk NTU 568. In order to understand its interest, it is necessary to understand some physiological data. Mortality from cardiovascular accidents remains very important in the statistics, and it has long been thought that cholesterol levels, in particular LDL-cholesterol, was the main culprit. We now know that the reality is more complex, and that the development of atherosclerosis (atheroma plaques in the walls of the arteries) is influenced by other factors and mechanisms, of which LDL-cholesterol is a marker, but not the main cause. For example, we understand the role of junk food, oxidative stress and certain lifestyle habits (such as smoking) on this phenomenon. The excess of free radicals (and/or the lack of antioxidants) will denature the cholesterol, and this oxidized cholesterol no longer being recognized by the body, the liver will continue to manufacture it up to excessive levels. Oxidative stress will also create microlesions in the arterial wallswhich will be as many attachment points for the atheroma plaques.

The classic red yeast rice is well known for its effects on lowering cholesterol levels, but it contains a molecule, monacolin K, which is a natural statin, and more precisely the same molecule as to lovastatin. Although widely prescribed, statins are not without side effects: they can cause liver damageand taking them can cause muscle pain up to rhabdomyolysis, destruction of muscle structures.
The selection of the fungus responsible for the fermentation of the rice will give a red yeast rice devoid of monacolin K, therefore of side effects. And yet, by the presence of other active molecules like ankaflavin or monascin, many therapeutic impacts have been verified through 120 scientific publications. We can cite theelimination of cholesterol through the bile duct; lowering LDL-cholesterol levels; the decrease in the synthesis of triglycerides from free fatty acids; reduction of hyperlipidemia and obesity ; restoration of insulin sensitivity; decrease in fasting blood sugar; inhibition of inflammation by reducing synthesis of inflammatory cytokines (messenger molecules of inflammation); lowering blood pressure, and the list goes on and on.
It is therefore a remedy which concerns varied fields, from hypercholesterolemia to type 2 diabetesthrough chronic inflammation and others, this without risk and without side effects.
