The authorities of the El Dorado airport seized 6.7 kilos of gold that supposedly belonged to the Farc dissidents and that a man tried to enter the Colombian capital.
The Chief of Staff of the Eastern Naval Force, Navy Captain Ramsés Ramírez, said that the seizure was achieved in a requisition thanks to intelligence information provided by the Colombian Navy, the Colombian Air Force and materialized by the Police.

Through the investigations, it was possible to determine that this mineral had been illegally extracted in the department of Guainía and “belonged to the Acacio Medina Front of the FARC dissidents and that it was going to be sold illegally.”
The FARC dissidents are, according to the authorities, the main responsible for the affectation caused to the environment in this part of the country because they are part of networks that illegally exploit gold for which they use chemicals that contaminate the water and soil.
The captured man and the 6.7 kilos of gold were made available to the Prosecutor’s Office.
