Russian troops continue to advance in Bakhmut

Russian troops appear to have taken control of the west bank of the Bakhmutka River in the heavily contested town of Bakhmut. This threatens an important supply route for the Ukrainian military, the British Ministry of Defense announced on Twitter on Friday. According to the report, Russian troops have made progress in months of bitter fighting for the city in eastern Ukraine.

They most likely made their way into the city centre, according to the latest report by British military intelligence on the situation in Ukraine. “Ukraine’s vital supply route 0506 to the west of the city is likely to be seriously threatened.”
