Marktplaats waarschuwt op zijn website dat er valse mails uit naam van het bedrijf worden verstuurd. Daarin worden mensen zogenaamd opgeroepen hun e-mailadres te herstellen. Of er wordt gezegd dat rekeningen nog niet betaald zijn.
Vervolgens worden slachtoffers naar een neppagina verwezen, waar ze gegevens moeten invullen. Criminelen kopiëren die gegevens en slaan ze op.
Een paar tips om phishing te herkennen
Phishingmails en nepwebsites kunnen heel overtuigend zijn. Wel zijn er manieren om frauduleuze berichten te herkennen. Kijk bijvoorbeeld altijd van wie de mail komt en deel nooit persoonlijke informatie of wachtwoorden.
Marktplaats stuurt nooit een e-mail waarin gevraagd wordt je wachtwoord of bankgegevens te delen. Ook het controleren van gegevens of het delen van je verificatiecode per sms doet het bedrijf nooit.
Als je gevraagd wordt opnieuw in te loggen, controleer dan goed of de link begint met Is dat niet het geval, log dan niet in en breng Marktplaats op de hoogte.
