A mother-of-four who spent more than 10 hours screaming in a grave has finally been rescued following being beaten and buried alive by three men last week.
On March 28, the 36-year-old woman from Brazil was abducted from her home before being beaten and left for dead in a grave at the Visconde do Rio Branco municipal cemetery in southeast Minas Gerais by three suspects, reported “The Independent” on Wednesday.
The woman reportedly survived for more than 10 hours before gravediggers noticed the fresh cement and blood left near the grave. When they heard the woman’s pleading voice coming from inside the tomb, they immediately called the police.
The 30-year-old was taken care of by a medical team, and she may need to have her fingers amputated, the care team reportedly said.
In parallel, two individuals aged 20 and 22 were arrested in the municipalities of São Geraldo and Viçosa on Saturday, and a third suspect is still wanted by the authorities.
According to the victim, the three men went following her for “misplacing” drugs and weapons that she kept at home for them, reportedly said the head of the civil police of Visconde do Rio Branco, Diego Candian. .
The two men had previously been arrested for arms and drug trafficking.
