No more housing policy for the super-rich
Vienna (OTS) – “ÖVP Economics Minister Kocher must finally show his colors. Does he and the federal ÖVP continue to make housing policy for the super-rich? And how should investor housing be compatible with social housing?” commented FPÖ building spokesman NAbg. Mag. Philipp Schrangl today’s building spokesman conference with the Minister for Economic Affairs on the subject of investor housing in non-profit housing.
“Investor apartments in social housing are like the devil and holy water. Renowned experts and authoritative institutions raise their warning voice. I wonder how much longer Kocher intends to resist common sense in housing policy,” Schrangl referred to, for example, warnings from the Chamber of Commerce and Labor, the cooperative umbrella organization, several state councilors for housing and criticism from constitutional judge Michael Holoubek, as well as a corresponding motion for a resolution by the Lower Austrian state parliament.
“We confronted the minister once more with our concerns – and we will not relieve him of his responsibility,” Schrangl announced further initiatives.
