Regional Tumbes Governor and Casitas Mayor narrowly escape death in army helicopter crash | EDITION

During a mission to deliver humanitarian aid in the Casitas district of Averías, a Peruvian Army helicopter crashed while taking off. The incident occurred around 100 meters from its previous takeoff position and fortunately, no injuries or fatalities were reported. Onboard the helicopter were six individuals, which included the regional governor, Segismundo Cruces Ordinola, and the mayor of Casitas, Daniel Alex Fernández Alemán. Their objective was to deliver aid to various nearby towns affected by flash flooding. The accident was reportedly caused by mechanical failure, which prevented the helicopter from taking off normally. Despite this setback, aid distribution continued in the Casitas district, where approximately 1,200 beneficiaries require assistance following the heavy rains.

While he was going to distribute humanitarian aid in the Averías town center in the Casitas district, the Peruvian Army helicopter fell while taking off, some 100 meters from where it had taken off. No injuries or deaths were reported.

They were with regarding six people in the helicopter, among them the regional governor Segismundo Cruces Ordinola; the mayor of Casitas, Daniel Alex Fernández Alemán, who had planned to carry out the delivery of humanitarian aid in the towns of Averías, Cienego Norte, Chicama and Fernández.

Apparently, the causes of the accident were due to a mechanical failure which prevented the normal takeoff of the ship.

It is worth mentioning that in this way the airlift began in the Casitas district, where some 1,200 beneficiaries affected by the heavy rains are projected.
