[ブリュッセル ５日 ロイター] -North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Secretary-General Stoltenberg announced on the 5th that Russia would deploy tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus. It shows that it was nothing more than an empty promise.
Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the deployment of tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus days following China and Russia jointly declared that they should not deploy nuclear weapons abroad, Secretary-General Stoltenberg said at a press conference at NATO headquarters in Brussels. He said these declarations were “empty promises” and that “Russia’s actions need to be watched closely.”
However, NATO said it had so far seen no indication that Putin’s announcement had been put into action.
Regarding Sino-Russian relations, he pointed out that Russia is becoming more dependent on China, partly due to the impact of sanctions once morest Russia imposed following the invasion of Ukraine. “Trade with China is becoming more important,” he said.
