Christian Adinata Forces Defending Champion to Lift Luggage

ORLEANS, Waspada.co.id – Christian Adinata performed brilliantly in the Round of 32 for the 2023 Orleans Masters, Wednesday (5/4) evening. Unexpectedly, Christian overthrew the sixth seed and defending champion Toma Junior Popov (France) 16-21, 21-19, 21-16.

Christian also followed Leo Rolly Carnando/Daniel Marthin and Pramudya Kusumawardana/Yeremia Erich Yoche Yacob Rambitan. Against Fang-Chih Lee/Fang-Jen Lee from Chinese Taipei, Pramudya/Yeremnia won 28-26, 21-17.

Leo/Daniel who were also the second seeds defeated Boon Xin Yuan/Wong Tien Ci (Malaysia) 21-14, 21-17. Not wanting to be outdone, two young mixed doubles also qualified for the Round of 16. They are Amri Syahnawi/Winny Oktavina Kandow and Adnan Maulana/Nita Violina Marwah.

If Amri/Winny beat Po Li-Wei/Chang Ching Hui (China Taipei) 21-15, 21-10, then Adnan/Nita eliminated Mikkel Mikkelsen/Rikke Soby (Denmark) 16-21, 21-13, 21-15. In women’s singles, Ester Nurumi Tri Wardoyo overcame Julie Dawall Jakobsen (Denmark) 21-19, 21-13.

Unfortunately, Akbar Bintang Cahyono/Marsheilla Gischa Islami were immediately eliminated in the Big 32 round. Lee Jhe-Huei/Hsu Ya Ching (China Taipei) stopped Akbar/Marsheilla 10-21, 21-18, 21-14. (wol/aa/tsw/d2)
