This year’s first national championship for orienteering runners was held on the western slopes of Bakony, in the area of Németbánya. In the adult and junior age groups, in addition to the alternating level difference, the running was made difficult by the thick brush and the rain and hail that fell during the race. In the team championship, two young Zala teams also finished on the podium. In the N16 age group, the TRIÓ Egerszeg ZTC team (Molnár Csenge, Dóra Csepke, Emma Porgányi) finished in 3rd place with great runs. Also, the Göcsej KTFE adolescent boys’ team was able to take the third place on the podium. They ran well in the strong field in the combination of Csegő Mézes Botond, Mátyás Czigány, and Márton Hegedűs.

In parallel with the team championship, the senior age group fought for championship medals in an ultra-long distance. Two athletes from TRIÓ Egerszeg ZTC won medals here: Attila Bányai won the second place in the F80 category by just one second. In the N40 age group, Éva Sárecz was narrowly out of first place and won the silver medal.
