The prosecution has stated that the motive for the murder was of “financial nature.” Nicolas remains in prison due to concerns regarding public safety. Baron Guy and his wife Myriam had been married for over thirty years. But the relationship between Myriam and the Baron’s children – including Nicolas – deteriorated.

Lawyer Nathalie Buisseret does not wish to comment on the investigation and the possible motive of Nicolas Ullens, which according to the prosecution is of “financial nature”. Nicolas Ullens would have “freaked out” following a discussion on the family fortune. He, like in particular his sister Brigitte who spoke in the media, believed that the mother-in-law “Mimi” wasted a large part of this money unnecessarily.
