Hockey player Semyon Koshelev fined in bribery case

Leninsky District Court of Ufa fined 2.2 million rubles. 27-year-old striker of HC Metallurg, former CSKA player Semyon Koshelev. He was found guilty of giving a bribe on a large scale (part 4, paragraph “b” of Article 291 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) and of attempted bribery (Article 30 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, part 3 of Article 291 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). Judge Elvira Yakupova did not read the reasoning part of the verdict.

The state prosecution asked to fine Semyon Koshelev for 3 million rubles. As Kommersant previously reported, the athlete transferred 40 thousand rubles to his friend Farit Samigullin. for obtaining a military ID and regarding 270 thousand rubles. for entering the Ufa State Oil Technical University, where, by his own admission, he actually did not study. The hockey player pleaded guilty.
