Trump returned to Florida

After the sensational reading of the indictment once morest former US President Donald Trump in New York, the Republican returned to his adopted home of Florida. Trump’s private plane landed in Palm Beach on Tuesday evening (local time), according to footage from CNN television. Trump was due to address later that evening at his nearby Mar-a-Lago estate.

Around the time in New York, the 76-year-old had not made a public statement regarding the allegations once morest him. During the flight to Florida, however, Trump posted a post on the online platform Truth Social, which he co-founded.

The hearing in court in Manhattan was “shocking” for many because there were no surprises and therefore no basis for the allegations, it said. “Nothing illegal was done!” Trump wrote. He continues to deny all allegations.

The ex-president had to appear in court in Manhattan on Tuesday, where he was given details of the unprecedented charges once morest him. Trump was briefly detained for the reading of the indictment, but was allowed to leave the court and New York immediately followingwards.

Prosecutors charged the Republican with falsifying business records on 34 counts. He wanted to hide harmful information and illegal activities before and following the 2016 presidential election.

At the center of the allegations is the payment of hush money to a porn actress. Trump is the first ex-president in US history to face criminal charges. He pleaded “not guilty” in court.
