Asunción, IP Agency.- From this Monday, April 3, the transmission of educational content from the MEC began on the screens of Paraguay TV, from Monday to Friday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
In a first stage, the contents will be for 7th, 8th and 9th grade students, informed the director of Science and Technology of the Ministry of Education (MEC), Lilian Demattel.
He added that the programs will also be aimed at secondary school students, where there is more evidence of dropouts at that level.
The contents were prepared by the Ministry of Education and Sciences (MEC), as part of one of the components of the project “Improving accessibility to education through the establishment of the Multimedia Education Support Center of Paraguay.”
It is implemented with a cooperation from the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), and seeks to streamline the teaching process and the reinsertion of students into the National Education System.
The materials had the participation of some 35 teachers from the areas of Mathematics, Spanish, Guarani, Science and History, who were trained by Koica technicians for the introduction of new educational strategies.
The project is financed by the Korean agency for US$ 9 million and also contemplates the construction of a Support Center for Multimedia Education, an educational content channel, the use of digital platforms for education and the implementation of technologies to encourage multimedia education in the country.
The agreement has a duration of five years and is executed by the MEC with the support of the Ministry of Information and Communication Technologies (Mitic) since February 2021.
