Numerous massive stab and cut injuries were found during the autopsy ordered by the public prosecutor’s office in Korneuburg, according to the Lower Austria State Police Headquarters on Tuesday. According to media spokesman Josef Mechtler, the prosecution has requested the imposition of pre-trial detention on the accused 27-year-old son of the victim.
As reported, the victim had made an emergency call himself.
The man is accused of killing his mother with a knife with a 20 centimeter blade. The 70-year-old stepfather also suffered numerous cuts and stab wounds. He is being treated in intensive care. The first officers who arrived at the scene immediately took life-sustaining measures, which apparently saved the man, the state police reported.

The alleged perpetrator, who had attempted suicide, was also seriously injured. The 27-year-old was taken to a Viennese hospital. The stepfather was flown to the University Hospital St. Pölten. According to Chief Inspector Johann Baumschlager from the State Police Headquarters on Tuesday, both were initially unable to be questioned.
The scene of the bloody crime on Monday in the early hours of the morning was a terraced house in the market town of Marchfeld, where the couple and the 27-year-old lived together. The motive has not yet been determined. The State Criminal Police Office of Lower Austria is investigating in cooperation with the public prosecutor’s office in Korneuburg. The murder weapon was secured. The securing of evidence and the comparison in the laboratory by the crime scene team have been continued. Questionings in the vicinity of the victims were also ongoing on Tuesday.
