Finland’s NATO membership: Russia promises “countermeasures”

The enlargement of NATO to Finland is an “attack on the security” of Russia, reacted the Kremlin on Tuesday.

Lhe Kremlin promised on Tuesday to take “countermeasures” following Finland joined NATO, calling the expansion of this Western alliance a “security attack” on Russia.

“It is a further aggravation of the situation. The enlargement of NATO is an attack on our security and our national interests,” Russian presidential spokesman Dmitr Peskov told reporters. “This forces us to take countermeasures,” he added, without giving details.
