Critical remarks, weird anecdotes and astonishing details on a monumental work of prog rock. Pink Floyd, founded in 1965, helped to develop and shape the genre and in the 1970s and early 1980s led to a widespread commercial impact – punk developed, among other things, as a reaction to the gigantomania of Floyd & Co, which was reflected in epic concept albums such as “The Wall”, “Wish You Were Here” and “The Dark Side of the Moon” reached their climax. In the psychedelic and drug-laden early phase of the band, then still led by singer Syd Barrett, there was little to indicate their later career. Was it Pink Floyd’s heyday?
