Ferrari unveiled a convertible version of its entry-level Roma coupe a few weeks ago. This will take the place of the Portofino M and will inaugurate the return of the soft top to the discoverable works of the prancing horse brand.
The Roma Spider thus skips the complex hardtop of its predecessor for a fabric headgear, an approach that has become widespread in an industry chasing pounds. The first roof of its kind at Ferrari since the 1969 365 GTS4, it can deploy in 13.5 seconds, at a maximum speed of 60 km/h. To avoid undoing the occupants’ hair too much, a retractable deflector housed behind the rear seatbacks can be deployed.
