Cabinet removed Registrar Supreme Court on Justice Faiz Isa’s letter – Pakistan

The federal cabinet has decided to remove Registrar Supreme Court Ishrat Ali and has also approved her recall.

A meeting of the Federal Cabinet was held under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister in which it was decided to remove the Registrar Supreme Court.

Keep in mind that the registrar is in a way the mother of the Supreme Court, if the government recalls the registrar, then the case will not be taken up for hearing and all matters will come to a standstill.

Registrar Supreme Court Ishrat Ali has been made OSD and directed to report to Establishment Division.

Justice Qazi Faiz Isa, a senior judge of the Supreme Court of Pakistan, wrote a letter to Registrar Supreme Court Ishrat Ali.

In the letter written by Justice Qazi Faiz Isa to the Registrar Supreme Court, it was said that the Registrar’s office has no authority to declare the judicial order null and void, the Chief Justice also cannot issue any administrative order once morest the judicial order.

In the letter, Justice Qazi Faiz Isa addressed the registrar and further wrote that you should be aware of your constitutional responsibility as a senior officer. And it is better in your interest that the circular dated 31st March should be withdrawn immediately, the Registrar’s circular dated 31st March is a violation of the 3-judge bench of the Supreme Court.

The letter further said that your conduct shows that you are not qualified to be the Registrar of the Supreme Court.

Justice Qazi Faiz Isa said in the letter that the circular should be withdrawn and informed to all the people to whom it was sent.

Apart from this, Justice Qazi Faiz Isa has also written a letter to the Secretary Cabinet Secretariat, Secretary Establishment, a copy of which has also been sent to the Chief Justice of Pakistan and the Attorney General.

In the letter, Justice Qazi Faiz Isa recommended recalling the registrar and wrote that the registrar should be recalled immediately before it further tarnishes the reputation of the institution.

Justice Faiz Isa has written in his letter that the Registrar Supreme Court Ishrat Ali should not be allowed to destroy the reputation and dignity of the Supreme Court.

It should be noted that on March 29, in the case of giving extra marks to Hafiz Quran, the bench headed by Justice Faiz Isa decided that all cases of Article 184-3 (automatic notice) should be postponed until the rules are made. After which, on March 31, the Supreme Court issued a circular on Justice Qazi Faiz Isa’s decision regarding self-notice.
