What led to the tragic death of three-year-old girl Snowy in Antwerp: The truth behind a staged car accident.

On Saturday evening, an incident occurred in Brasschaat, a province of Antwerp. The local police received a call reporting an accident involving a three-year-old child named Snowy and a driver on the Bredabaan. Snowy was knocked down on a pedestrian crossing and sustained critical injuries. She was taken to the University Hospital of Antwerp but unfortunately passed away a few hours later. The uncle and aunt of Milou, who were with Snowy at the time, claimed that the driver fled the scene following the accident. However, upon investigation, the police found inconsistencies in their story and arrested them on Sunday. The couple was unable to identify the vehicle involved in the accident, and there were no witnesses or surveillance footage. Snowy’s parents believe that it was a misunderstanding and claimed that their daughter’s uncle and aunt were her caretakers on the first weekend of every month. They received a panicked phone call from Snowy’s aunt, informing them that a driver had run over their daughter. They immediately rushed to the scene, but unfortunately, it was too late. The circumstances of the tragedy are still unclear, and the police are speculating the possibility of a fall on the stairs of the uncle and aunt’s apartment being the cause. However, the investigation is ongoing.

What happened in Brasschaat (province of Antwerp) on Saturday evening? Around 7 p.m. that day, the local police received a call following an accident on the Bredabaan, involving a three-year-old child, Snowy, and a driver. The latter would have knocked down the girl on a pedestrian crossing, before taking “the flight at high speed”, told the uncle (37 years old) and the aunt (43 years old) of Milou, with whom the child was at the moment of the drama. The young victim, in critical condition, was taken to the emergency room of the University Hospital of Antwerp (UZA). She died there a few hours later, shortly following midnight.

But this version of the facts very quickly put the chip in the ear of the police, who noted inconsistencies in the story of the couple, finally arrested on Sunday. In reality, it seems that there has never been a hit-and-run accident. According to a spokeswoman for the Antwerp public prosecutor’s office, interviewed by Het Laatste Nieuws, the uncle and aunt were unable to describe the vehicle involved in the tragedy, and no one witnessed such an accident. No nearby surveillance camera footage recorded this either.

For Milou’s parents, it’s misunderstanding. “She went every first weekend of the month to her uncle and aunt, she was looking forward to it,” they told our Flemish colleagues, explaining that a few hours following a last video call on Saturday followingnoon, he had received a panicked phone call from Snowy’s aunt, telling them that a driver had run over their daughter.

The young thirty-somethings went directly to their relatives, arriving at the same time as the relief, warned by the uncle and the aunt. On the spot, the paramedics explained to them that their daughter lacked oxygen for six minutes. “I immediately saw that the situation was hopeless,” explained the parents, in shock. “Apparently his uncle called us first before calling the emergency services. It’s incomprehensible. We lost precious time.”

The circumstances of the tragedy that cost Snowy’s life are still unclear at present, but the police are suggesting the trail of a fall on the stairs in the entrance hall of his uncle and aunt’s apartment. A track that the investigation will have to confirm or invalidate.

The tragic death of three-year-old Snowy in Brasschaat is a devastating event that has left many questions unanswered. While her parents are left to grieve, the investigation is ongoing to determine the true cause of her death. One thing is for certain, the inconsistencies in the story of Snowy’s uncle and aunt have led the police to doubt their initial claims, and the investigation will continue until a clear understanding of the circumstances is established. Our hearts go out to Snowy’s family during this difficult time.
