The Egyptian actress, Yousra El-Lawzy, said that she does not prefer to participate in more than one work during the Ramadan season, despite her participation in the series “Jamila” with the artist Reham Hajjaj, and “Al-Maddah 3” with the artist Hamada Helal, stressing in her dialogue with “Al-Sharq Al-Awsat” that the difference between the two characters He was behind her approval of the two works.
She explained, “My refusal to present two roles in one season has nothing to do with pressure and filming, but I do not prefer it in Ramadan, although I did it before through my series (Red Lines) and (Vertigo) 2012, as well as in my series (Energy of Destiny). And (Halal) 2017, the same conditions are usually imposed.
And she indicated that she carefully read the roles to discuss the similarities and differences before agreeing, pointing out that “in the case of similarity, even to one degree, I refuse without hesitation, and whoever does so loses a lot and may lose his credibility, and get distracted in his performance.”
And regarding her role in the third part of the series “Al-Maddah” and the reason behind her enthusiasm, she said: “I cooperated before with the director Ahmed Samir Farag, as well as the artist Hamada Helal, and working with them is a great pleasure. As for my dramatic line, it is far from the events of the original work. I present the character of a (modern) lady who has a special character and has a relationship with the hero of the work directly, just as the beginning of my character is from the third part, and is not a continuation of one of the characters of the first or second part. The factors that encouraged me to participate in a work that has achieved a large audience since its presentation.
And she talked regarding her personality in the series “Jamila” and the scenes of the work, saying: “The scenes were wonderful with all the work team and the artist, Reham Hajjaj, who I dealt with before in the series (Girls of Superman), and my personality is completely different from my personality in (Al-Madah), because it is full of mystery and planning. The arbitrator, plotting and love of control, I cannot classify her as an evil personality, but she is colorful and loves to appear and grab all the strings and move everyone in her favour.
Yousra recently participated in the movie “Group of Mamiz”, denying that the film is a projection of family problems as far as defining the extent of the mother’s suffering with her children and her interest in all their daily details, explaining: “I moved away from the last period because I went through bad psychological conditions following the death of my father, and I preferred to return with a fun work. And light makes me quickly return to art, so the movie was my chance to get out of this situation.
Yousra explained that she was not at all afraid of presenting the swimsuit scene in the film and that the criticism did not preoccupy her much, saying: “I do not see any problem in the matter. It is customary, and I personally do not consider it daring. We saw the swimsuits in the movie (Ibn Hamido), for example, and we laughed a lot.
Yousra is keen to follow the presentations of short narrative films in various festivals, as she considers them the beginning of the emergence of many talents and stars later, and filming them is very interesting, and she continues: “I presented many of them in my beginnings and I do not mind participating in them now. It does not take its chance to be shown in Egypt, although we offer short films that are better than long films.
And regarding her favorite artistic color, Yousra said: “I love presenting the Saidi characters, and I presented them for the first time in the movie (An Hour and a Text) and for the second time in the series (Amazement) with the artist Yahya Al-Fakharani. Easily later, and despite this love, I hope to present the Sa’id roles with at least a month’s advance preparation and weekly dialect training, and not the sudden entry into filming as it usually happens. And she continued: «I love singing a lot, but the idea of issuing an album is excluded for me, and it may be possible to present a music video in a special and different case because my taste in singing is very different from what we hear now, because I love the old, so a different and unique mixture must be presented, in addition to that I I also like to present acting works with songs that are employed in the work.
Yousra concluded her speech by emphasizing that she does not like to appear in media programs, except to talk regarding her artwork. Explaining that she does not pursue the trend, and considers it an unhealthy phenomenon, it is illogical to evaluate people with like marks and the number of followers, and at the same time she cannot deny the importance of social media, because according to her: “I certainly care, but it is not one of my priorities and I am not affected by it, in addition to that.” To the spread of the fashion of buying the trend and the leading hours on the social media.
Al-Lawzi added: “Every year we see a war in Ramadan between the stars and the series on the trend, and I feel that we are in a battle to prove who is the first and the leader despite everyone’s knowledge of the dimensions of the game and what is going on in the world of the trend. It’s just a fraud. Success is people talking regarding work for years, not temporary success.
