Western Digital set to release cheaper storage option for Xbox Series S/X –

Western Digital, the well-known storage solution provider, seems to have a new line of storage devices prepared for Xbox Series S/X that are cheaper than Seagate’s currently available offerings.

The expansion card WD Black C50 1TB will provide gamers with extra storage space for their consoles, allowing them to store more games and apps without worrying regarding running out of space. The memory card – which has yet to be announced – got a store page on Best Buy over the weekend, but when it was discovered on social media, it was quickly removed. It’s priced at $179.99, which is $40 cheaper than Seagate’s comparable alternative.

Microsoft has opted for this generation’s proprietary memory expansion cards as a solution to expand your storage on Xbox Series S/X. While this is a really user-friendly and convenient alternative that also allows you to easily carried between multiple consoles, it’s also significantly more expensive than Sony’s alternative for PlayStation 5 (standard M.2 SSD). Getting more competition in this area is a welcome change.

The only expansion cards available for Xbox Series S/X are from Seagate, but that’s regarding to change.
