During broadcasts of WrestleMania 39 via Peacock and WWE Network, the superstars Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn won the Unified Tag Team Championships following defeating The Usos in a tag team match.
This was the main matchup on Saturday in The Showcase of Immortals in Los Angeles California. Jey Uso and Sami Zayn began the physical exchange, with the former gaining the advantage with several aggressive punches. After driving both Usos away, Sami managed to relieve KOwho managed to get several blows to his advantage and Moonsaults from the top rope.
Sami allowed himself to land a Uso Splash on Jimmy followed by his Blue Thunderbomb before suffering several Superkicks from the champions. Thus, Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn win the WWE Unified Tag Team Championships, being their first tag team reign in their careers. Kevin Owens takes the triple crown tonight (for winning the Universal and Intercontinental title) and the Grand Slam (for the United States). The Usos finish a combined 621 days with the SmackDown title and 311 with the RAW title with eight unified defenses. The members of The Bloodline unified both pairs of belts on May 20 on SmackDown following defeating former red show champions RK-Bro, thus adding their eighth reign as a tag team.
