The hostage-taking incident that occurred on Friday evening in a house located in Roeselare, West Flanders came to an end following the arrest of the suspect. The local police confirmed the news at 11:30 p.m. regarding the arrest, with thirty people who were previously evacuated returning safely to their homes. The suspect had taken several individuals hostage, and as a precautionary measure, the neighborhood had been evacuated. Furthermore, the street’s gas supply was terminated where the hostage-taking occurred. According to Het Nieuwsblad, the perpetrator was the former partner of the house’s resident.

A hostage-taking that was underway Friday evening in a house in Roeselare in West Flanders ended with the arrest of the suspect, local police confirmed shortly following 11:30 p.m. Thirty people who had been evacuated were able to return to their homes.

A man had taken several people hostage and as a precaution the neighborhood had been evacuated.

The gas supply had also been cut in the street where the hostage-taking took place.

According to Het Nieuwsblad, the suspect is the former companion of the resident of the house where the hostage-taking took place.
