The 23-year-old Romanian was on the west autobahn in the direction of Vienna shortly following 5 p.m. The road conditions were extremely difficult anyway: the road was wet and it was raining lightly. A civil patrol pursued the driver. The officials were able to measure an average speed of 230 km/h at the permitted 130 km/h and 139 km/h at the permitted 100 km/h. The man from the Linz-Land district was finally stopped at the Ansfelden Süd service station. He might not name a drifting reason for the excessive speed. It was also the last time he would drive so fast, he said, according to the police.
The 23-year-old lost his driver’s license for the time being. He is shown.
