Update (01/04/2023) – FM
The Galaxy S23 FE may yet be released as a new “affordable top of the line” phone by Samsung. According to new rumors released on Friday (31), the supposedly cheapest model in the flagships may be presented in the middle of the last quarter of the year with a feature that may not please fans of the brand.
According to information from SamMobileo Galaxy S23 FE will launch globally with a single processor option: Exynos 2200the same platform used by the Galaxy S22, which received a series of negative reviews for its low energy efficiency — one of the reasons why Samsung slowed down launches with Exynos.
The new rumors contradict previous speculations that the Galaxy S23 FE would launch with Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 in August, which would possibly coincide with the announcement of the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5.
The latest information indicates that the new cell phone will have an upgrade in its rear cameras, which will now have a main lens with a 50 MP sensor. In addition, the model should be available in versions of 128 GB and 256 GB. There are still no details on RAM memory, but it is possible that the single option will be 6 GB or 8 GB.
The Galaxy S23 FE can “inherit” the 4,500 mAh battery from its predecessor, with support for fast charging at 25 watts. Sources indicate that the product’s model number will be “SM-711x”, which may help identify it in certifications and benchmark platforms that test its hardware before launch.

It is worth remembering that the last launch of the “Fan Edition” line, the Galaxy S21 FE, arrived on the international market with two hardware options: Exynos 2100 or Snapdragon 888. This strategy was repeated in several other generations of Samsung cell phones, but ended up ending with the Galaxy S23, which uses only Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.
There is still uncertainty regarding the launch of the Galaxy S23 FE, as well as the Galaxy S22 FE, which ended up never being released. Some leakers don’t get their hopes up for this product. Roland Quandt, for example, recently said on his Twitter that “it sure doesn’t look like there will be a Galaxy S23 FE this year.”

Canceled? Samsung Galaxy S23 FE is not expected to be released
After numerous rumors speculate regarding the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S23 FE over the next few weeks, new sources claim that the new model in the FE line may never reach the market.
As you may have followed, the last few days have brought us exciting news regarding the eventual arrival of the Galaxy S23 FE.
In line with the recent launch of the S23 line – which includes the normal, Plus and Ultra model, the “Fan Edition” would hit the market over the next few weeks with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and a very competitive price. Something that would be in line with the proposal of what the S21 FE was in the past.
But despite the non-launch of the Galaxy S22 FE having raised the expectations of brand fans regarding the imminent launch of the S23 FE, it seems that it should not happen.
According to the famous leaker Roland Quandt, on his Twitter, the launch of the S23 FE should not happen this year – and probably, in no year in the future. Check out the tweet:
Sure doesn’t look like there’ll be an S23 FE this year.
— Roland Quandt (@rquandt) March 10, 2023
While it’s not something that’s taken for granted, Quandt has been a reliable source of leaks over the past few years, and even because of that, him not having any information regarding a model that would be announced in the coming months somehow indicates that perhaps such a model does not actually exist.
Of course, in this scenario, the leakster cannot be taken as the only reliable source. After all, numerous previous rumors still indicated that Samsung will launch the device.
However, it is worth thinking regarding: perhaps the FE line is not exactly one of the most beloved by the South Korean manufacturer.
After all, with the amount you would invest in a new smartphone from the line, perhaps it would be more interesting for the manufacturer that you buy a flagship from the previous year or invest in a Galaxy from the A line, from premium intermediaries.
In any case, only the future will tell us what Samsung is planning.

At the same event, Samsung is also expected to announce the Galaxy Tab S8 FE, along with the much-anticipated Galaxy Tab S9 line. It is not common for the South Korean to present two major tablet launches at the same event, but it is plausible that the Galaxy Tab S8 FE will be announced alongside the Galaxy S23 FE and its foldable devices
Earlier, a Korean newspaper article claimed that the Galaxy Tab S8 FE would be released in August or September. If this is true, it will be the direct successor to the Galaxy Tab S7 FE, which hit the market in May 2021. The tablet should come equipped with an LCD panel, Stylus support and SM-X506B numbering.
Despite some doubting the information, Samsung has a history of surprising fans with unexpected announcements during Unpacked events, so it would not be impossible for it to bring the Galaxy S23 FE and Galaxy Tab S8 FE during its presentation.

The Galaxy S21 FE didn’t come close to the success of the Galaxy S20 FE for a number of reasons. Among them, the weak performance and the higher price range. In addition to the aforementioned reasons, component shortages made Samsung cancel the Galaxy S22 FE last year.
However, there is an interesting rumor regarding the Galaxy S23 FE that reveals its alleged chipset, something that will excite Fan Edition users.

This decision might also apply to the Galaxy S23 FE, if Samsung really plans to launch the phone. The decision might also motivate some consumers to opt for the device, especially knowing the advances of the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 compared to its predecessor.
In addition, not using the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 would help Samsung keep the price of the Galaxy S23 FE competitive, something that is very important for the device. Using Qualcomm’s latest platform might also hurt sales of the flagship Galaxy S23 lineup, a development Samsung would not want.

Update (02/16/2023) – MR
The Samsung Galaxy S20 FE has become one of the biggest successes of the South Korean company, bringing together powerful specifications and a highly attractive price, making it the cost-effective champion.
However, the phenomenon was not repeated with the Galaxy S21 FE due to its higher price. Last year, Samsung withdrew from launching the Galaxy S22 FE following problems with component shortages. However, an article indicates that the South Korean will launch the Galaxy S23 FE this year.

According to the South Korean newspaper Hankooki, Samsung will launch a new Galaxy S Fan Edition phone in second half of 2023. While many claimed that the line was dead, the article cites that the company will launch the Galaxy S23 FE instead of the Galaxy A74.
He also mentions that the Galaxy S23 FE should have a bigger launch than the Galaxy S21 FE, being available in even more countries. Apparently, the Galaxy S21 FE has not reached the goal of selling more than 10 million units and surpassing the Galaxy S20 FE. In addition, the Galaxy A73 had low sales, with only 3 million devices sold.
With these disappointments, Samsung plans a way to launch the device without cannibalizing its other Galaxy phones. With the strategy, the South Korean would give up the Galaxy A74 to boost sales of the Galaxy S23 FE.
So far, no concrete information regarding the Galaxy S23 FE has been released, but some leaks claim that it will not use the Exynos 2300 chipset. So, it is possible that Samsung will use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 For Galaxy platform or the Snapdragon 8 Plus Last year’s Gen 1.

Contrary to what many imagined, the cancellation of the 2022 Galaxy FE line would not be related to the fact that the Galaxy S21 FE was launched later, arriving in January of this year, but due to the shortage of components. However, several experts cite that the decision to bring the device late influenced its sales, below what was imagined, and did not even come close to the success achieved by the Galaxy S20 FE.
Samsung has achieved good numbers with sales of the Galaxy S22 Ultra flagship model, which uses the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 platform, the same processor that would be in the Galaxy S22 FE. However, with the lack of Qualcomm chips and the focus on the more expensive model, the South Korean opted for the decision to cancel the fan version.
As it is a well-received line in the market, Samsung planned to manufacture 3 million units of the Galaxy S22 FE, but all the success of the Galaxy S22 Ultra convinced them otherwise. Recent data shows that the flagship has sold more than 10 million units, which led it to consider focusing on using Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 only in the current Galaxy S22 line, not launching the new model for fans.
However, the South Korean would not kill the line, as some speculated. Including, the decision to manufacture 3 million units of the Galaxy S22 FE would have been postponed to plan the launch of the Galaxy S23 FE next year in the hope that the shortage of components is controlled.
