CHUWI (Two Way) is an emerging PC manufacturer in Shenzhen, China, mainly selling cheap laptops and mini PCs. I have purchased/verified the company’s products several times in the past, but have never encountered any trouble. CoreBox 4th is a compact mini PC. It’s slightly larger than a typical mini PC, but much smaller than a regular desktop PC, so it doesn’t take up much space.

Performance is modest for a modern desktop PC. However, it is sufficient for light work such as researching the Internet, video conferencing, and writing a little document. In addition, since it is equipped with 16GB memory, processing will not be extremely slow even if you use multiple files and software. For general work, you will be able to use it for a long time.

Compared to CPUs for notebook PCs, it is not so high performance. However, the benchmark score surpasses the previous generation Core i5 / i7. The Core i3-1215U is enough for general work just because the latest high-end CPU is too high performance. Especially for single-core performance, which is strongly affected by light work, it can be considered to be quite excellent for a PC under 50,000 yen.

The real price of 50,000 yen is certainly cheap, but if you think only regarding the price, there are models with higher cost performance. For example, the model below has a configuration of Ryzen 7 5800U / 16GB memory / 512GB SSD, and the selling price is in the 40,000 yen range. The drive sound is loud, but if you can stand it, it’s a great cost performance.

The point of CoreBox 4th is that it supports USB4 and that it can use 2.5 inch storage. If you are focusing on these two points, why don’t you consider it?
Another concern is that it’s an indie maker rather than a major company. The warranty and support are (probably) no worse than the big guys, and the quality of the product isn’t bad either. However, if you think regarding it in terms of security, there should be people who think that major companies are more preferable. Also, the quality of the parts used in the products is considered to be more stable at major manufacturers. Please take this into consideration when deciding whether to purchase.
