Shootings leave one dead, one injured in Atlanta

ATLANTA, Georgia (Telemundo Atlanta) – One person was killed and another was injured as a result of two shootings that occurred this Friday morning in Atlanta, in incidents that, according to authorities, are related to each other.

According to the Atlanta Police Department report, it all started around 2:00 in the morning at Metropolitan Parkway and Lexington Avenue.

The police indicated that the incident appears to have originated from an argument between two groups of people who knew each other.

A man was found shot to death at the Exxon gas station at Metropolitan Parkway and Lexington Avenue, while the wounded man was found half a mile away on Hope Street.

Police shut down the gas station and part of Lexington Avenue and used K-9 units to search the area while security camera footage from the service station is reviewed.

The authorities say they do not know the causes of the confrontation between the two groups and how many people were in them, and so far no arrests have been made.

They also ask that anyone who may have information regarding what happened call the Atlanta Police Department or Crime Stoppers.
