The TSE called on political organizations to carry out a high-profile and ethical campaign.
The Supreme Electoral Tribunal (TSE) publicly admonished the political organizations Frente de Convergencia Nacional (FCN-Nación) and Nosotros, for promoting their image and calling for the vote, with sexist and offensive expressions.
In the opinion of the electoral body, the messages they put into practice, far from being creative, express bad taste.
“Political organizations are called upon to avoid the sexist and offensive expressions of some candidates that, instead of strongly encouraging a plural and informed debate regarding government proposals, can lead to the degradation of the electoral process,” said the president. TSE.
The presiding magistrate of the TSE, Irma Palencia, stated that the parties must withdraw said propaganda, and stop doing so, “they do not have a stipulated term, but it is supposed to be immediately”, although she did not want to advance criteria, the magistrate indicated that the public reprimand, is the first call to attention to these organizations.
