Lakeland, Florida.- The Airport Department (DA) and the Consulate General of the Dominican Republic in Orlando, Florida, announced the implementation in this city of the “Esfuerzo-País” project, which seeks to promote the Dominican territory as a safe place for non-commercial private aviation. in combination with the Creole diaspora.
The initiative is contained in a collaboration agreement signed today, at the stand of the Dominican Republic, within the framework of the Sun N’ Fun fair, and signed between the executive director of the DA, Víctor Pichardo, and the general consul, Francisco Holi Matos , to help promote airport culture, as well as tourism in the country.
“Today, with the signing of this agreement, we continue to strengthen this institutional commitment to private aviation through the implementation of the “Effort-Country” Project, together with the diaspora, which is a guarantee of the promotion of airport culture throughout the territory. national.
This commitment is security, transparency and efficiency of our sector”, indicated Pichardo.
In addition, it contemplates enabling an office of the Airport Department at the consulate headquarters, in order to promote private aviation and offer the necessary facilities of relevant information to potential investors interested in projects in the country’s airport sector.
Speaking at the event, Pichardo also highlighted the rehabilitation and reconditioning work of the domestic airports, which is currently carried out by the Airport Department, as is the case of Cabo Rojo in Pedernales, where the perimeter fence is already being built, the asphalting of the runway in conjunction with Public Works and the creation of the operational safety strip.
“With these works, this domestic airport in Cabo Rojo will serve as a first phase, so that investors who visit Pedernales can carry out operations with all the security and facilities,” Pichardo said.
On his side, the consul, Francisco Holi Matos, assured that “he works to promote and favor all initiatives that benefit the Dominican Republic.”
The event was attended by the director of the Dominican Institute of Civil Aviation (IDAC), Héctor Porcella and representatives of the Quisqueya and Dominicano 74 flying clubs.
Meanwhile, the consul was accompanied by a delegation made up of Dominican businessmen in Florida, Luis García and José Gómez; the person in charge of the consulate’s legal department, Enmanuel Matos, and public relations, Adolfina Peláez.
Like every country, the Dominican Republic promotes general aviation at the Sun N’ Fun Fair, which has the support of sector agencies, airport operators, especially the Ministry of Tourism and IDAC; but above all, thanks to the support of the government of President Luis Abinader.
