The French Football Federation announced, Thursday, the appointment of Hervé Renard as the new coach for the women’s national team until August 2024, to succeed the article Corinne Diacre.
Renard, 54, resigned two days ago from his position as coach of the Saudi national football team.
Renard took over the leadership of “Al-Akhdar” in 2019 and led it to the 2022 World Cup following leading its Asian group. He also achieved a historic victory over Argentina in the group stage of the Qatar World Cup.
The appointment of Renard, winner of the African Cup of Nations twice with Zambia and Ivory Coast, comes less than four months before the start of the Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand, which France’s women will compete in between July and August.
