The State Workers Association (ATE) asked the Río Negro government the reopening of salary negotiations to avoid an “escalation” in the social conflict in the province.
Through notes sent to the governor Arabela Carreras and to the Chief of Staff Pablo Zúcaro, Rodrigo Vicente, general secretary of the union entity, indicated that “If there is no quick call, the conflict will escalate throughout the province” and maintained that “the inflationary process continues to erode income in the public sector and it is necessary to guarantee new negotiations.”
The manager acknowledged that “We accept that the last offer be settled, but we do not rule out a return to the measures because we also point out its inadequacy».
During their last meeting, the union accepted the modifications of the Executive that increased “even more the salaries of January and February”, although he continued to consider them insufficient percentages. However, he chose not to promote forceful measures, at the moment.
It was indicated that in the next few days INDEC will announce inflation for March, “Which no one places below 7%, well above the 5.7% increase proposed by the Government.”
«The advance of the monopolies on prices overheats the social conflict that is expressed in a generalized discontent that it keeps teachers on the streets and police officers mobilized. For ATE, it is the government’s responsibility to prosecute it.”
