Commander Thiry Furious Over Dilapidated Fire Engine in Florenville (Photos)

Stéphane Thiry made an announcement on Wednesday regarding the emergency services rescuing a student in La Roche-en-Ardenne. However, the following day, when he woke up, he was outraged and stunned to find out that a logistics vehicle belonging to the Florenville post was vandalized. Several windows were broken, a wheel and some accessories were stolen. At a time where costs should be minimized to ensure citizen safety, Thiry was disgusted by this gratuitous aggression. The vehicle was identified as belonging to the firefighters, so the perpetrator(s) knew what it was used for and to whom it belonged. Thiry assured everyone that even though this had happened, if the perpetrators needed help from their services, they would still come to their aid, even if it meant walking there.

Stéphane Thiry proudly announced, this Wednesday, the intervention of the emergency services to save a student in La Roche-en-Ardenne.

This Thursday, March 30, 2023, when he wakes up, he is shocked and angry: “Last night, a logistics vehicle from the Florenville post which was parked in the immediate vicinity of the barracks was vandalized”.

“Breakage of several windows, theft of a wheel and accessories. At a time when we are fighting daily to ensure the safety of citizens by limiting costs as a good father, this kind of gratuitous aggression disgusts me. The vehicle being identified as firefighters, the perpetrator(s) knew to whom the vehicle belonged and for what purpose it was used. May these people know that tomorrow, if they need us to help them, we will go! Even on foot. “

The vandalism of the logistics vehicle from the Florenville post is a disappointing and senseless act. Stéphane Thiry’s reaction to the incident sums up the frustration and anger felt by firefighters who strive to ensure the safety of citizens on a daily basis. It is important to remember that firefighters are here to help us, even in such difficult circumstances. Hopefully, the perpetrator(s) will realize the error of their ways and make amends. Let us all have respect for the invaluable work of our firefighters and first responders.
