In your message, Christian Jorge Torres Ortiz Zermeño, Rector from UdeC, said that this “is an important day for the young people who have had confidence in our institution; accreditation has a very important meaning for their training, since it means that they are studying in a high quality program National and international”.
With this international distinctionhe stated, the School of Medicine joins the public universities of Mexico that have such a denomination: “This achievement gives us the certainty that the work to train students with professional, scientific and human quality has been effective and, at the same time, renews our commitment to the continuous improvement”.
This, he continued, “highlights the dedication of students, faculty and directive, since to a large extent the accreditation responds to the performance shown by all of them in their functions and responsibilities, as well as to the follow-up carried out to achieve the objectives. established standards”.
He ended by saying that, due to the current context and the policies derived from the General Law of Higher Education“we will have new challenges, but the axis of work towards a quality, equitable and relevant education will be the guide to maintain the recognition obtained by this program, which has been a benchmark of prestige and excellence in the Universidad”.
Emilio Prieto Diaz Chavez, director from School of Medicinesaid that this establishment was one of the first Academic programs in the country to be accredited by the COMAEMin February 1997. It added that this accrediting body is authorized by the Council for the Accreditation of Higher Education (COPAES) by virtue of having complied with the quality standards established.
He stated that the rigorous evaluation during the accreditation process ensures that the international quality standards in the formation of the surgeons and midwives: “This achievement would not have been possible without the effort and dedication of all the staff members of the School of Medicine”, he acknowledged.
