As a result, a questionnaire on the topics of values, attitudes and life goals, life satisfaction and future expectations, satisfaction with life in Wels (leisure time, education and work), intercultural coexistence, etc. should be created. Due to the large proportion of migrants in the city of 64,000, young people with a migrant background should also be represented as representatively as possible in the sample.
Plan for the future
Youth officer and FP Deputy Mayor Gerhard Kroiß emphasizes that the study should show how young people think today, what they want from their city of Wels and for their future. “As a city, we have to know their needs in order to be able to plan and shape their future accordingly.”
The Greens mock the fact that Kroiss sells the youth survey as his idea. “We introduced this point as part of the green youth master plan in October 2022, at that time it was wiped off the table in the committee,” says Alessandro Schatzmann, spokesman for the Green Wels.
