Jean-Claude Muyambo threatens to file a complaint against the initiators of the Tshiani bill

During a press briefing on Thursday March 23 in Lubumbashi, Jean-Claude Muyambo, declared candidate for the next presidential election, described the Tshiani bill as discriminatory, threatening to sue its initiators.

The Tshiani bill would like the functions of President of the Republic to be reserved only for Congolese fathers and mothers. For Jean-Claude Muyambo, this law is of a separatist nature and does not contribute to national cohesion.

He promises to attack his initiators before international bodies:

“Zaire (current DRC, Editor’s note) has acceded to the international convention on the elimination of all forms of racial discrimination. Whoever accepts this will suffer the rigors of the convention on the international level. There are also half-breeds in Grand Kasai, why do you only mean half-breeds from other provinces? it becomes discriminatory! “.

According to him, the initiators of this text of law incite the population to tribal hatred and they will answer for that in court. “I was flabbergasted, I regret that a government can accept that there are individuals who glorify, propagandize racism because of the skin,” lamented Jean-Claude Muyambo.

Deputy Nsingi Pululu had tabled in the National Assembly, Thursday, July 8, 2021, the bill amending and supplementing Law No. 04/024 of November 12, 2004 relating to Congolese nationality. It is an initiative of Noel Tshiani Muadiamvita, an unsuccessful 2018 presidential candidate and former World Bank official.

However, this text, which aims to “lock access to the Presidency of the Republic and to the functions of national sovereignty of the Democratic Republic of Congo”, has never been debated in plenary of the lower house of Parliament./mediascongo .net
