This came in a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Mauritanians Abroad today, Sunday, a copy of which was received by the Mauritanian News Agency, which reads as follows:
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Mauritanians Abroad of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania strongly condemns the Danish authorities’ allowing extremists to repeat provocative actions once morest the feelings of Muslims by burning copies of the Holy Qur’an.
Such reckless, disgraceful and irresponsible behavior, which contradicts the principles of democracy, freedom of expression and human rights, is liable to further inflame feelings of hatred and hatred between nations and cultures at a time when there is an urgent need to work to promote the values of dialogue, tolerance and understanding among peoples and to strengthen joint efforts to combat extremism and extremism.
