Quebec will be well represented at the 6e edition of the Cannes International Series Festival, which will take place from April 14 to 19. No less than three Quebec series were selected as the official selection for the event

Lac-Mégantic – this is not an accidentthe new documentary series by filmmaker Philippe Falardeau (Monsieur Lazhar, The time of raspberries), will thus be presented in international premiere at Canneseries before being offered on the Vrai platform, at the beginning of May.
The series that looks back on the Lac-Mégantic rail tragedy in July 2013 was selected in competition in the documentary section of the festival.
Series Good morning Chuck (or the art of harm reduction)directed by Jean-François Rivard (That’s how I love you) and Mathieu Cyr, was selected in competition in the festival’s “long series” category. The Bell Media production, which brings together on screen Nicolas Pinson, Sylvain Marcel and Marilyn Castonguay, will compete with nine other international series, notably from France, the United States and Norway.
Shot in black and white, good morning chuck (or the art of harm reduction) tells the story of a morning TV show host who finds himself in a recovery house following being embroiled in a scandal involving drugs. The series will be available on Crave starting May 24.
Remember that the Quebec series Audrey came backfrom Club illico, won two awards in this category last year.
Quebec will also be represented in the “short series” competition at Canneseries thanks to seem to go, a new series from director Sarah Pellerin, which has been airing on Télé-Québec for the past week. Catherine St-Laurent, Antoine Olivier Pilon, Joakim Robillard and Noémie Leduc-Vaudry play four friends in their twenties with cystic fibrosis.
