The Xiaomi 13 Pro is the Chinese giant’s new bet for the most advanced segment and arrives with a powerful camera, Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, lots of memory and an updated design. Can it compete with the best in the segment? Let’s check.
Xiaomi has updated its top of the line that now comes with a square block and more bounce. The body still has curves, has a metal finish with glass and has gained IP68 certification for protection once morest water and dust. The new one was slightly smaller, but gained thickness and weight.
The screen has the same size and specifications as before with 6.73 inches with Quad HD+ resolution, 120 Hz rate and LTPO type AMOLED panel with Dolby Vision support and more than a billion different colors. What changes in this generation is the brightness that is stronger for greater comfort outside the home. The sound has also evolved and surpasses many rivals in power while delivering well-balanced audio between bass, mids and highs.
The Xiaomi 13 Pro comes with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 with up to 12GB of RAM. It uses part of the internal memory to extend the RAM and guarantees great multitasking performance, despite not being the fastest Android we tested. The battery has grown and with the more economical hardware we have superior autonomy for a whole day of use with ease. The powerful 120W charger takes less than 30 minutes to fill the battery.
The photographic set consists of three 50 MP cameras. The main one is the same one present in the Xiaomi 12S Ultra and we have Leica lenses present once once more. Even with an advanced sensor and a robust set, the Xiaomi 13 Pro does not impress in photography, despite recording great photos. Zoom is better than before, while selfies might be better. The camcorder records in 8K at 24 fps and the front camera remains limited to Full HD. The quality of the footage is good with all cameras, as long as you avoid very dark locations. There is an efficient stabilization system, agile focus and good audio capture.
