Following Sony, Nintendo, and Microsoft, Ubisoft will not attend E3

Ubisoft announced its intention not to attend the global game show ‘E3’ held in June. This is the fourth major game company’s declaration of non-participation, following console game companies Sony, Nintendo, and Microsoft (MS). Accordingly, the industry reacts skeptically to this year’s E3.

According to foreign media such as GameHub and Engadget on the 28th, Ubisoft announced in a statement that it would not be participating in this year’s E3. “We originally planned to announce our participation at E3, but we decided to hold a Ubisoft Forward Live event in June,” said E3 spokeswoman Heather Heifner.

Previously, Sony, Nintendo, and Microsoft also announced their absence. Leadpop, the organizer of E3, did not take a particular position on the absence of large global game companies. The E3 exhibitor lineup was also not disclosed.

The foreign press expresses a skeptical reaction to this year’s E3. It is analyzed that the global game show ‘Summer Game Fest’ is also held at the same time, so the level of attention is greatly reduced.
